Mr. Jarrod D. Kohn, 48, of Louisville, Illinois, died at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  On December 25, 1971, Jarrod was born to Jerry Kohn and Diana (Boger) Jones in Washington, Indiana.  He always said that he was the best present they ever received.  In 1990, Jarrod graduated from Washington High School where he was very involved in many organizations.  He earned his degree in Mortuary Science at Vincennes University.  He spent nearly his entire career working in the funeral industry, starting his first job in a funeral home at age 15, and most recently, he and his wife owned Kohn Funeral Home in Flora.  Jarrod married Hayley Anderson on November 24, 2007, in Effingham, IL, and they enjoyed 13 years of marriage together.  Jarrod was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Flora.  His faith was important to him.  Jarrod loved music and singing and playing piano.  He liked cars and the calm of a rainy day.  He loved to make people laugh and play pranks.  Jarrod was always up for any adventure.  He had a heart of gold and wanted to help others.  Most of all, Jarrod just loved being with his family, especially Hayley and their precious son, Jasper.  They were truly his whole world.  

Jarrod is survived by his wife, Hayley Kohn of Louisville, IL; son, Jasper Kohn of Louisville, IL; parents, Jerry Kohn of Clay City, IL, and Diana Jones of Washington, IN; brothers, Jeff Kohn and wife Wendy of Flora, IL, and Jeremy Kohn and wife Andrea of Flora, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brad and Dona Jo Anderson of Louisville, IL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dirk and Brooke Anderson of Louisville, IL; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, 4 nieces: Amber, Kayli, Vayda, and Elsie, 5 nephews: Zac, Nic, Owen, Hudson, and Knox, 1 great-niece, 3 great-nephews, many dear friends; and 3 furbabies, Buddy, Bella, and Bailey.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Lucille Kohn, maternal grandparents, Cecil and Hallie Boger, brother, Casey Lee Jones, stepfather, Gary Jones, stepmother, Karen Kohn, and 4 angel babies.  

A memorial service for Jarrod will be at 3 p.m. (CST), Sunday, November 29, 2020, at New Beginnings Church located at 500 W. 12th St. in Flora, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 1 - 3 p.m. (CST) at the church.  Please follow social distancing guidelines, and Jarrod would insist that you wear your mask.  A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville, IL.  Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations for Jasper’s education in care of Hayley Kohn and may be received at the service or mailed to McGriff and Triplett Funeral Home, PO Box 68, Louisville, IL 62858.  McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville has been entrusted with the care and arrangements
