Virginia Maraya Schrokosch, age 83, of Flora, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 8:40 pm, Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Flora, Illinois.

Virginia was born on August 10, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois to Frances (Caruso) Kinka and Nicolo Kinka.

In 1973, she moved herself and 4 children to Escondido, California where she lived for 41 years until she moved to Flora, Illinois in August of 2014. She was a professional numerologist for over 30 years. Maraya suffered a stroke in 2019 that left her right side paralyzed and bedridden. Her iPad was used to entertain her, keep her informed on world news and this is where she wrote her memoir. Typing out her life story with her left pointer finger. She had quite a life, filled with ups and downs, happiness and sadness. She was never more happy than when she married Harry Schrokosch in 1987, and had a beautiful like together until he preceded her in death in 2005.

Maraya is survived by her children: Marie Nicely, Charles R. Osterholtz, Anthony Osterholtz, Cathrine Osterholtz; grandchildren: Nico Osterholtz, Cassie Osterholtz, Caprice Hidalgo, Emily Laguna; great-grandchildren: GioVanni, Mylah, Daniella; a brother: George Linskens; and several nieces and nephews.

Maraya was preceded in death by her parents: Frances Caruso Linskens, Nicolo Kinka, adopted father: George Linskens; sisters: Frances Cathrine, Marylin Linskens, Margaret Fikaris; a brother: Albert Linskens.

It was Maraya's wishes for cremation, and no formal services will be held. Memorials may be made in Maraya's memory to Clip and Tip Strays, and mailed to PO Box 23, Flora, Illinois 62839.
