Virginia Nicholson

Virginia Willadene Nicholson, age 90, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 4:30 pm, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at her home. Virginia was born on November 29, 1926 in Marion County, IL, the daughter of the late Alfred Mulvany and the late Rosa Myrtle (Shadden) Mulvany. She was united in marriage on January 4, 1947 in Paducah, KY, to Charles Raymond Nicholson, also known as "C.R.", "Bill", and "Nick". He preceded her in death in 1994. She was employed by Fabick Heavy Equipment Company in Salem and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Gays, IL. Her hobbies included spending time with her children and grandchildren. She cared for her family in many ways and loved to cook and read. She leaves to mourn her passing, sons, Tony Lynn (Diane) Nicholson of Mattoon, Terry Duke Nicholson of Belleville, Curt Alan (Rose) Nicholson of Jeffersonville, IN; daughter, Kim Lori Olson of Mattoon; daughters-in-law, Rose Anne Nicholson, Debbie Hess, Linda Welton; sisters, Lela Ewing of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Shane (Britta) Nicholson of Tigard, OR, Rachel (Michael) Kepford of Springfield, MO, Tiffany (Joel) Reddy of Bethany, IL, Jennifer (Derek) Ingram of Livington, IL, Jessica (Neil) Bryan of Sullivan, IL, Clayton (Cassidy) Hall of Charleston, IL, Tera (Thomas) Wilkes of Belleville, IL, Brock (Allora McCullough) Nicholson of Schuylerville, NY, Brent (Amanda Walker) Nicholson of Belleville, IL, Matthew Henigman of Golconda, IL, Seth Henigman of Mattoon, Blake (Sara) Nicholson, Jeffersonville, IN; great grandchildren, Jake and Lucas Nicholson, Jesse Hamilton, Emma Kepford, Reagan Easton-Reedy, John Stetson-Reedy, Sloan Reedy, Chilton and Aleena Ingram, Alex Williams, Katryna and Olivia Wilkes, Blain, Peyton, Madilyn and Tyler Henigman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband Charles; daughter, Vicki Nicholson Parker; brothers, Hollis Mulvany and Cleo Mulvany; sister, Bonnie Dean Mulvany. Arrangements are entrusted to Neal Funeral Home of Kinmundy, IL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Gays, IL. A celebration of life will follow at the church at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held in Philips Cemetery in Kinmundy, IL after the service at 4:00 pm.
