Virginia Craig

Virginia Imogene Craig, age 91, of Alma, IL, passed away at 4:35 am, Monday, September 3, 2012, at the Doctors Health And Rehab Center in Salem, IL. Virginia was born August 17, 1921 in Marion County, Illinois, the daughter of James Frederick and Zetta Ellen (Lampkin) Burkett. She was united in marriage with Richard L. Craig on December 01, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1985. She was an avid donator to the American Red Cross; member of the Alma Christian Church and the Farina American Legion Auxilary . She is survived by her sons, Marvin "Butch" Barbee of Kinmundy, Charles "Bud" Craig and wife Brenda of Alma, Richard "Barney" Craig and wife Pamela of Glen Carbon, and Jerry "Bones" Craig and wife Angela of Kinmundy; daughter, Patricia Chasteen of Kinmundy; sister, Ula Krutsinger of Mahomet; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Zetta Burkett; husband Richard Craig; daughter, Janice Schwabe; sister, Delores Fogerson; and son-in-law, Lester Chasteen. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2012, Randy Van Ausdall officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL Memorials may be made the the Kinmundy/Alma EMT's or Kinmundy Food Pantry and will be received at the funeral home.
