Violet Stanford

Violet Mae Stanford, age 90, of Flora, IL, passed away at 4:30 am, Wednesday, November 21, 2013, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, IL. She was born May 8, 1923 in Louisville, Illinois, the daughter of William and Ina (Porter) Hinkle. She was united in marriage with Ray Edward Stanford on January 10, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1999. Violet was a faithful member of the Bethlehem Christian Church and enjoyed her time as a homemaker. Violet is survived by daughters, Karen Rae Sanders and Kay Nolen both of Flora; brother, Thomas Hinkle of Flora; sisters, Virginia Cummings of Houston, Texas, Juanita Peacher of Flora, Sue Hemrich of Noble, and Patricia Kessel of Flora; grandchildren, Tony Sanders, Gina Nolen and Tracy Walker; great grandchildren, Haley Klingler, Katelyn Walker, Matthew Walker, Ethan Sanders, Gracie Sanders, Kendra Krantz, and Sara Beth Walker; great great grandchild, Braylon Klingler. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ina Hinkle; husband, Ray Edward Stanford; brother, William E. Hinkle; sister, Lola Wilkin. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2013. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 25, 2013, Mark Luzadder officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the the family.
