Sammie Byers

Sammie Doyle Byers, age 69, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at his home in Louisville, at 3:03 am, Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Sammie was born January 10, 1947, the son of the late Howard Byers and Wilma Darlene (Horner) Byers. On February 19, 1966, he married Nancy Ann Lewis and to this union one son and two daughters were born. He spent his time as a heavy equipment operator for the Local 841 out of Terre Haute. He leaves to mourn his passing, wife Nancy Byers of Louisville; mother, Wilma Byers; son Matt and wife Tammy Byers of Louisville; daughters Kristina Rubsam-Seay and husband Joey of Louisville, Melissa Krantz and fiancee Brad Anderson of Louisville; brothers, Delane Byers and wife Paulette of Taylorville, IL, Cleon Byers and wife Dollie of Dalton City, IL, Randy Byers and wife Sandy of Louisville, Bobby Byers and wife Brenda of Mason, IL; sister, Phyllis Allison and husband James of Flora; grandchildren, Jennifer Rudy and husband Bryan of Flora, Shanae' Coffey and husband Drew of Charleston, IL, Brock Rubsam and wife Hannah of Normal, IL, Reid Rubsam and wife Kayla of Louisville, Broc Krantz and Levi Byers of Louisville, Regan and Garrett Rubsam of Louisville, Jordon Byers of Louisville; great grandchildren, Bella Byers, Vera Rudy and Mason Rubsam. Sammie was preceded in death by his father. Arrangements are entrusted to J.W. Neal Funeral Home of Louisville. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Louisville United Methodist Church. A time of fellowship with family will follow after the service in the fellowship hall. Cremation rites will be accorded.
