Ruby L. (Wilkins) Parker, 77, of Louisville passed away peacefully at 9:48 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her home.

Ruby was born on September 21, 1944, in Clay City, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil and Dorothy (Rosenberg) Wilkins. She married Kenneth Allen Parker on May 8, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois and they shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 16, 2020. Ruby and her husband were the owners of K & R Café in Louisville until his death. She was a police officer in Georgia for about 5 years. She loved to cook and bake food and she loved to be at the restaurant where she could visit with everyone. Ruby loved taking care of her family.  She also loved to square dance and was a very talented seamstress and made many dresses. Ruby was a member of the Clay City Christian Church and attended the Louisville First Baptist Church.

Ruby is survived by her 3 children; Gayle (Paul) Clark, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Steven (Ronda Ram) Parker, of Richmond, Texas, and Terri (David) Bright, of Katy, Texas, 12 grandchildren, Shawn (Kellie) Clark, Ashley Clark, Christopher Clark, Stephanie Parker, Sterling Parker, Jessalynn (Jordan) Boling, Jennica (Tanner Dawkins) Parker, Landen Bright, Joshua Bright, Summer Bright, Esther Joy Bright, Caleb Bright, and Josiah Bright, and 3 great grandchildren, Emerson Boling, Ever Boling, and Ariya Boling. She is also survived 1 brother Howard Wilkins of Louisville, and 2 sisters Carol Jean O’Dell of Louisville and Doris (Bill) Pflaum of Clay City.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, and one great grandson Royce Boling.

Funeral services honoring the life of Ruby will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Kelly Carruthers officiating. Burial will follow at the Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 7p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Ruby’s memory to the First Baptist Church, Louisville, and will be accepted through the funeral home.
