Robert Winks

Robert Eugene Winks, Sr., age 67, of Kinmundy, IL, passed away at 5:20 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at Doctors Health And Rehab Center in Salem, IL. Robert was born September 16, 1947 in Peoria, IL, the son of the late Eugene Winks and the late Lulu (Nelson) Winks. He married Janice Holzhauer on November 21, 1977 in Pontiac, IL. He was a retired sargeant prison guard with the Illinois Department of Corrections and a member of the Kinmundy Masons and the Kinmundy American Legion as well as a member of Alma Christian Church. He served in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. Robert is survived by his wife, Janice Winks of Kinmundy; son, Robert "Robbie" (Jackie Griffin) Winks Jr. of Kinmundy, IL; daughters, Jeana (Mike) Saatkamp of Salem, IL, Kimberly (Ethan) Bouser of Farina, IL; half brother, Roy Nelson of Des Moines, IA; half sister Linda (Ron) Rupe of Des Moines, IA; brother-in-laws, Jeff (Renia) Holzhauer of Pontiac, IL, John (Cindy) Holzhauer of Alma, IL, Rod Halzhauer of El Paso, IL, Michael (Karrie) Sexton of Pearland, TX; sister-in-laws, Janet Duncan of Kinmundy, IL, Marsha (Leroy) Meister of Fairbury, IL; aunts Mary Winks of Salem, IL, Mary Weeks of Alma, IL; grandchildren, Nathan, Jaime, Kemper, Emilee, Carter, Lindsey, Kaitlyn, Jon, Jenna, Anna Marie; and many neices, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, William Winks and Roy L. Nelson. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, August 10, 2015. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 with military rites accorded. Interment will be at Alma Cemetery, Alma, IL Memorials may be made to the Illinois Vietnam Vets, Inc. and will be received at the funeral home.
