Robert Schwabe

Robert Keith Schwabe, age 75, of Flora, IL, passed away at 4:00pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. Robert was born on April 17, 1940 in Salem, IL, the son of the late Earl Robert and the late Eileen Elizabeth (George) Schwabe Heicher. On October 24, 1959 in Kinmundy, IL he married the late Janice Mae Barbee and to this union two sons and one daughter was born. He was employed by Morts concrete of Effingham and Fedders in Effingham as a construction worker and wood crafter. He was also a union laborer and loved to fish. Robert is survived by sons, Robert Schwabe of Charleston and James Schwabe of Flora; daughter, Debra (Rick) Stumeier of Effingham; half brother, John (Connie) Heicher of Kinmundy; sister, Patricia (Ronald) Whitney of Mattoon; half sister, Marylin (Jerold) Henson of Salem; four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Eileen and wife Janice. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home of Kinmundy. Cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time. Interment will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Kinmundy.
