Robert A. Van Dyke, 67 of Odessa, Florida formerly of Clay County, IL, passed away at 1:35 AM, Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Melech Hospice House in Tampa, Florida. Robert was born Wednesday, December 12, 1945 in Clay County, to Ward and Helen (Hall) Van Dyke. Robert graduated from North Clay High School, Eastern Illinois University, Oklahoma City University, and was an American MENSA member. He was the husband of Christine Van Dyke, whom he married in 1990 in Anniston, Alabama. He was employed by Van Dyke Telecommunications as a telecommunications broker. Robert is survived by his wife, Christine, of Odessa, FL; Daughter, Christine Smith of O Fallon, MO; Granddaughters, Erin Aholt, Emily Aholt; Grandson, David Lee Smith III; Great-Granddaughter, Serenity Fitzgerald of O'Fallon, MO; Sister, Martha Deain of Effingham, IL; Brothers, Doug (Sabra) Van Dyke of Louisville, IL, Monte (Susan) Van Dyke of Mason, IL and Mark (Marcia) Van Dyke of Naperville, IL; Nieces & Nephews, Tamara Beck of Greenup, IL, Michelle Mueller of Jackson, MO, Van Smith of Bethany, OK, Ellen Birdsell of Bloomington, IL, Vince Van Dyke of Rinard, IL, Scott Van Dyke of O'Fallon, MO, Mona Perales of Laredo, TX, Kevin Van Dyke of Louisville, IL, Kyle Van Dyke of Mason, IL, Christopher Van Dyke of Sugar Grove, IL, Phillip VanDyke of Naperville, IL and several great nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean Baker. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL Graveside services will be held at Orchard Hill Cemetery on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Louisville, IL. A Memorial will be held at the Hord Community Center after the graveside service.
