Robert Atchison

Robert Atchison, age 81, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 1:15 am, Sunday, July 29, 2012, at John Cochran Veterans Hospital in Saint Louis, MO. Robert was born November 26, 1930 in Louisville, Illinois, the son of Andy and Arline (Rockhold) Atchison. He was united in marriage with Marilyn Kenley on February 16, 1980. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1996. Robert was employed by Fedders Inc in Effingham and was a member of the Louisville American Legion. He was an United States Veteran and served during the Korea war. He is survived by his brothers, Bill Atchison and Russell Atchison both of Louisville; sisters, Ruth Ann Bissey of Arthur, Susie Doyle of Olney, Louise Moats and Mary Ellison both of Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Arline Atchison; and brothers, Ray and Arnold Atchison. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday, August 3, 2012. Military Rites will be accorded at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 6:00 pm. Family will then be holding a gathering for friends following visitation and military rites at the Louisville American Legion.
