Richard Zivney

Richard Fred Zivney, age 86, of Salem, IL, passed away at 7:50 am, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was born on May 19, 1929 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, the son of the late Fred and the late Albena Zivney. He married Pat (Bechtold) Zivney and she survives in Salem, IL. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Salem American Legion and enjoyed assisting at the food pantry in Salem. He is survived by his wife Pat of Salem; son, Randy (Connie) Hummel of Tampa, FL; daughter, Tammy (Dan) Boatright of Sandoval, IL; grandchildren, Justin Boatright of Centralia, Joshua Boatright of Nashville, John Boatright of Sandoval, and Damien Hummel of Florida, and one great grandchild, Dillon Boatright. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Oliver Zivney. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 Pm to 5:00 pm, Monday, October 12, 2015. A memorial service will follow at 5:00pm at the funeral home. Military rites will be accorded by the Kinmundy American Legion at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial donations can be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses in lieu of flowers and will be received at the funeral home.
