Ray Dean Lewis, 74, of Noble, Illinois, and formerly of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Ray Dean was born on November 4, 1947, in Clay County, IL, the son of Kenneth Lewis and Erma “Morris”. Ray Dean graduated from North Clay High School in 1965.  He married Regina J. (Overton) Taylor on November 6, 1991 in Morganfield, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2021. He was a self-employed mechanic. Ray Dean loved to garden, going mushroom hunting and being outdoors. He was very independent.

Ray Dean is survived by his 4 children Becky (Don) Harrington of Louisville, Staci Walden of Olney, Shawn (Sherman) Yoho of Louisville, and Kenneth Lewis of Colorado, along with 2 step children, Gina (John) Hutton of Noble, and Monty Taylor of Noble.  He had 12 grandchildren Jessica Phillips of Clay City, Emily (Paul) Stice of Watson, Austin (Eva) Stinnett of Prattville, Alabama, Denine Rinehart of Louisville, Casey Rinehart (Warren Swinson) of Olney, Tori (James) Gosnell of Olney, Cody (Hillary) Yoho of Flora, Sierra Yoho of Flora, Evan Yoho of Louisville, Shawnee (Shawn) Atteberry of Flora, Hannah Taylor of Noble and Bryson Taylor of Clay City, along with several great grandchildren.  He is also survived by a brother Marty (Kris) Lewis, of Bible Grove, and several nieces and nephews.

Ray Dean was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jacque Scott, and in-laws Clarence (Tom) and Lois Overton.

Memorial services honoring the life of Ray Dean Lewis will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville, with Doyle Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home where friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home.
