Phyllis Butts

Phyllis Joan Butts, age 75, of Kinmundy, IL, passed away at 2:33 pm, Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Lakeland Rehabiliation & Health Care Center in Effingham, IL. Phyllis was born September 17, 1937 in Oskaloosa, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Goldie (Pickel) Pickel. She was united in marriage with Stanley Alwardt on September 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death. She was then united in marriage with Frank Butts on November 6, 1981 at the Edgewood Christian Church. Phyllis was employed by the Fedders Company in Effingham and was a member of Iola Cavalry Apostolic Church. She is survived by her husband, Frank Butts of Kinmundy; sons, Stanley Alwardt Jr. and wife Debbie, and Sam Alwardt and wife Pam both of Edgewood; daughters, Kathy Kleinik and husband Cliff of Farina, and Robin Alwardt of Kinmundy; brother, Jack Pickel of Bryant, Arkansas; sisters, Trudy Stumborg of Mosinee, Wisconsin, Barb Greear of Semmes, Alabama, Joyce Buhrman of Edgewood, and Linda Kuhlman of Effingham; sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Goldie Pickel; first husband, Stanley Alwardt; brother, Robert Pickel; sister, Louise Shafroth; and grandson, Adam Alwardt. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2013. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 2, 2013, Rev. Mike Durre officiating. Interment will be at Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Iola Cavalry Apostolic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
