Patrick O'Leary

KINMUNDY – Patrick Kevin O’Leary, 60, of Kinmundy, passed away at 3:56 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Patrick was born on September 5, 1960, at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem to Michael and Alice (Kuhlman) O’Leary. He was a manager/buyer in the swine industry having worked for United Pork Producers Inc. Patrick loved to bear, and elk hunt in Idaho, Wisconsin, and New Mexico. He loved to raise livestock and cattle especially. It was said that he loved his family very dearly and never knew a stranger.

Patrick is survived by his mother, Alice O’Leary; significant other, Joyce Hogan; 4 children, Patrick Luke (Kelsie) O’Leary, of Marine, Illinois, Will Reilly (Alexis Duncan) O’Leary, Norris City, Illinois, Rachel Mary Alice (Anthony Wodtka) O’Leary, of Alma, Macy Iris Ann O’Leary, of Alma; 5 grandchildren, Creed O’Leary, Ryker Duncan, Sutton Duncan O’Leary, Waylon O’Leary, Tucker O’Leary. He is also survived by his siblings, Karen (Alan) Ritter, of Xenia, Michael (Anita) O’Leary, of Kinmundy, Marcie (Neal) Smith, of Salem.

Mr. O’Leary was preceded in death by his father, Michael O’Leary; grandbaby, Harper; uncle, Roland O’Leary.

Funeral services honoring the life of Patrick will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Brown Christian Church, Kinmundy with Bro. John Horton officiating, burial will follow at the Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the church where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brown Christian Church or the Kinmundy Food Pantry. The McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Kinmundy has been entrusted with the care and arrangements.
