Nellie Arnold

Nellie Lorene Arnold, age 87, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 9:00pm, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at her home in Louisville, IL. Nellie was born August 2, 1925 in Pope Township in Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Sherman Chester and Mabel Esther (Cole) Bryant. She married Lyle Wayne Arnold on June 15, 1946 in Alma, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2011. She worked as a cook at the Iola Grade School and spent many years of her life helping on the farm. She was also a devoted member of Louisville Christian Church. Nellie is survived by son, Dennis (Candy) Arnold of Louisville; daughters, Lila (Al) Holeman of Effingham, Eva (Ron) Allen of Louisville; Grandchildren, Tony (Carmen) Holeman, Penny Arnold, Amanda (Justin) Dial, DeLila (Doug) Ralston, Chet (Stacey) Allen, Nate (Melissa) Arnold, Travis (Ashley) Arnold; and 15 great granchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother (Howard Bryant), and sisters (Opal Herrin, Beryl Ziegler). Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 20, 2012. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 21, 2012. Interment will be at Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia, IL Memorials may be made to Louisville Christian Church or Clay County Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.
