Nancy Lee McGee, 73 of Louisville, passed away at 4:54 PM on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas. She was born on December 28, 1944 in Effingham, the daughter of the late James Andrew and Irene (Harmon) Thompson. She married Joseph Carl McGee on March 31, 1962 at the Old Union Christian Church in Louisville and he survives. Mrs. McGee worked as an area beautician before she began a career in nursing. She was a home health nurse with St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham for several years. Nancy enjoyed time with her family; especially the time spent with her grandchildren. In her spare time, she liked flowers and gardening, camping with her grandchildren and enjoying the outdoors. In addition to her husband Joe, she is survived by a son; Greg (Christi) McGee of Louisville, a daughter; Tammy (Loy) Hosselton of Clay City, eight grandchildren; Andrew, Dylan (Cherity), Josh (Marie), and Brock McGee, Casey (Hallie) Clagg, Aaron, Jesse and Eli Hosselton, 14 great-grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to Nancy's parents she was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Teresa McGee and by a sister, Agnes Schoonover. Funeral services honoring the life of Nancy will be conducted at 11 am on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville with Tom Armour officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Memorial contributions in Nancy's memory are suggested to the American Heart Association or to HSHS Hospice of Southern Illinois.
