Mildred Griffy

Mildred "Mid" Marie Griffy, age 88, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 8:55 am, Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon, IL. Mid was employed by the Louisville Rotary and was a faithful member of Red Brush Christian Church. She loved to quilt, cook, and listen to music. She was born February 18, 1924 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Henry C and Beulah B (Fugate) Daugherty. She was united in marriage with Edward Wayne Griffy and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1985. Mid is survived by her brothers, Ralph Daugherty and wife Diane of Xenia, and Gary Daugherty and wife Marge of Louisville; sister, Lucille Roark of Champaign; daughter-in-law, Pamela Wooden; sister-in-law, Margene Daugherty of Aurora; grandsons, Christopher Wayne Griffy of Salem, and Jeffrey Le Griffy of St. Louis; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn White of Mt. Vernon; five great granddaughters and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Beulah Daugherty; husband, Edward Griffy; son, Darrell Wayne Griffy; brothers, James and Delbert Daugherty; and sisters, Dorothy Griffy, Lois Habbe, and Donna Ashley. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Red Brush Christian Church and funeral service will be at Red Brush Christian Church at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Interment will be at Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville, IL Memorials may be made to the Red Brush Christian Church or the SSM Hospice and will be recieved at the funeral home or the church.
