M.G. "Chub" Green passed away at 11:45 pm, Monday, September 22, 2014 at his home in rural Louisville. He was born on October 20, 1924 to Sillas and Gertrude Green of rural Iola, Illinois. He served in the Navy during World War II on the minesweeper, the U.S.S. Starling. Chub married Kathleen Daugherty on May 29, 1947. They are the parents of two daughters, Candy Arnold of Louisville and Terry Drosselmeyer of Warrenton, Missouri. They owned Chub's Feed and Supply in Louisville for several years. Chub, also, worked construction, farmed, and raised livestock. He was an active member of the Red Brush Christian Church and Louisville Christian Church. He was a founder member of the Clay County Men's Fellowship and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Chub was preceded in death by siblings, Mildred Rogers, Orpha Painter, and Virginia Wright and survived by siblings, Violet Howe and Howard Green. He is survived by wife, Kathleen, daughters and sons-in-law, Candy and Dennis Arnold and Terry and John Drosselmeyer, and grandchildren, Penny Arnold, Nathan and Raven Arnold, Travis and Ashley Arnold, Seth and Jolene Borders, Katie and Rodger Tucker, and Bobbi Drosselmeyer. Papa Chub's great-grandchildren are Kaylee Arnold, Caitlyn Arnold, Jacob Arnold, Harrison Arnold, Guy Arnold, Mattie Jo Borders, Jonah Borders, Avery Tucker, and Hailey Tucker. Papa Chub will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2014. Funeral Service will be held at J.W. Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 am, Friday, September 26, 2014. Interment will be at the Red Brush Cemetery with full military rites by the Louisville American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to the Louisville Christian Church Mission Funds, or the Oil Belt Christian Service Camp.
