Mary Smock

Mary Jane Smock, age 75, of Flora, IL passed away at 11:05am, Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, IL Mary was born Wednesday, January 5, 1938 in Clay County, the daughter of the late Clovis Ballard and the late Geneva (Glardon) Ballard. She married the late Robert Ranes and to this union two sons were born. He preceded her in death and Mary was later united in marriage to the late Cloyd Smock. She was employed by Sullivan Masonic Home as a housekeeper and enjoyed her time attending the Louisville United Methodist Church. Mary is survived by sons, Randy Ranes and wife Linda of Louisville, IL, Kelly Ranes of Farina, IL and Bret Smock of Bethany, IL; brother, Benny Ballard and wife Cora of Louisville; sisters: Nellie VanDyke of Louisville, IL and Betty Best of Johnsonville, IL.; grandchildren: Corey Ranes, Kailee Ranes, Cody Ranes, Colby Ranes and Tyler Smock; great-grandchild, Serenity Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Robert and second husband Cloyd. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Orchard Hill Cemetery located on Route 45 Louisville, Illinois 62858.
