Mary Kaye
Ash
October 9, 1952 – April 23, 2026
Mary Kaye Ash, age 73, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away at 8:19 pm Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.
Mary was born on October 9, 1952, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Jerry Neil and Marjorie (O'Dell) Bailey. She married Roger Ash on November 8, 1971, and they shared 44 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 5, 2016.
Mary devoted much of her professional life to the manufacturing industry, where she worked at the Glove Factory in Effingham. Throughout her career, she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, qualities that earned her the respect of her colleagues and community alike.
Beyond her career, Mary cherished time spent outdoors. Her passion for nature was evident in the large flower beds she lovingly raised and tended, creating vibrant spaces filled with blooms that attracted hummingbirds to her yard. These small moments of beauty brought her great joy and peace.
Mary was a compassionate and generous soul. Living close to her parents, she selflessly cared for both of them in their later years until their passing. Her devotion to family was a cornerstone of her life, reflecting the strength of her character and the depth of her love.
A long-time member of the Louisville Christian Church, Mary found spiritual sustenance and community through her faith, which guided her throughout her life.
Mary is survived by her brothers: Ron Bailey of Louisville, John (Gail) Bailey of Edgewood, Illinois; nephew: Chad (Sara) Bailey; niece: Tina (Don) Olszewski; and many cousins and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister-in-law: Wanda Bailey.
It was Mary's wishes for cremation and no formal services will be held. The McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville is honored to be assisting the family with the arrangements. To sign the guestbook online or to share a memory or story of Mary, please visit www.mcgriffandtriplettfh.com.
