Martha Spicer

Martha Sue Spicer, 85, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 1:42 am on Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Clay County Hospital in Flora, IL. She was born on November 28, 1926 in Clay County, Illinois to Elzo Robert and Mayme Jane (Jones) Smith. She married Robert Farris and he precended her in death in 1979. She then was married to Oliver Spicer on June 6, 1980 in Louisville, Illinois. Martha was a faithful member of the Louisville United Methodist Church and had been employed by the North Clay School District as a custodian. Those left to cherish memories of the life of Martha are husband, Oliver Spicer of Louisville; son, Richard Leon Farris and wife Lilly of Louisville; daughters, Jean White and husband Jim of Iuka and Brenda Coleman of Louisville; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends who will all miss her dearly. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Elzo and Mayme Smith; first husband, Robert Farris; sister, Venita Hagen; one granddaughter, one great granddaughter and one great great grandson.
