Mark Harrison Webster, of Manassas, Virginia, age 45, passed away suddenly at 7:20pm, on Saturday, May 25, 2019 in hospital in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in San Diego, CA Naval Hospital on October 6, 1973. Mark was the only son of James H. (formerly of Bible Grove) and Rita E. Webster. He was baptized in the name of Jesus at the Manassas Church of Christ (New Hope) when he was 9 and ½ He was a 1992 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, Manassas, VA. He never married and he was an honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran who served on the USS Eisenhower (CVN 69), his final duty station. Mark was a self taught MICROSOFT certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) , a Computer Animation Artist of Art Institute of Atlanta (AIA) , Toshiba Certified Technician, Certified for RealSecure, Internet Scanner, Systems Scanner and Database Scanner as well as Global Knowledge Certified on Windows 2000 Server. He was proficient on Checkpoint Firewall -1 for NT and SUN Solaris and Gauntlet Firewall for SUN Solaris, and FCSE - Fortnet Certified Systems Engineer. He held network security engineer positions at various work sites such as: NOVA (Northern Virginia) Community College, Fannie Mae, Senior Network Security Engineer for Georgia Tech Office of Information Technologies (IT), SAFESuite, at Insight Global Inc., Atlanta, GA and Businets, Inc., Fredericksburg, VA. His last position was with the University of Phoenix (UP), in Phoenix, AZ as Senior Security Engineer of the UP network Firewall and Information Technologies (IT). He was well liked by his boss and peers. Mark loved animals, photography, he was a talented artist, nearly totally self taught and swimming, even becoming a (PADI) certified diver in Guam while on a government assignment. He loved computer games, videos and movies and challenging computer problems to fix, be it hardware or software. He was a fanatical fan and competitor in martial arts completing black belt in TAE KWON DO, brown belt in HAPKIDO, brown belt in KENPO, yellow belt in WUSHU, yellow belt in TAI CHI, and brown belt in BRAZILLIAN JIU-JITSU. His most desired goal was to become a graphic artist, however making a living pre-empted that goal. He is survived by his parents, one sister, Rebecca (Spann) and husband Larry, two nephews, Vincent Jones and Nicholas Jones, one aunt (97 year old Virginia York, of Mesa, AZ) and many cousins. He will be missed. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Manassas Church of Christ, 8110 Signal Hill Rd., Manassas, VA Graveside services honoring the life of Mark will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Shouse Chapel Cemetery in Bible Grove.
