Marjorie Jones

Marjorie Edith Jones, age 83, of Salem, IL, passed away at 5:30 am, Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Doctors Health And Rehab Center in Salem, IL. She was born on December 15, 1929, the daughter of George William and Grace (Bassett) Conant. She was united in marriage with Floyd Jones in 1948 and with this union were two sons and one daughter. Marjorie graduated from Kinmundy High School in 1947. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a former member of Homemaker's Extension, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years, and was a 4-H leader. She loved spending time with family and friends and often opened her home for get-togethers. She was very generous and frequently took food to those who were ill. She worked very hard in her garden, growing flowers and vegetables. She is survived by her sons, Stan (wife Linda [Mitchell] Jones), and Roger (wife Cathy [DeVore] Jones) both of Alma; daughter, Connie (husband Jim) Brubaker of Taylorville; sisters, Monna Frake and Betty See both of Salem; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brubaker) Lawson (husband Matt) of Suwanee, Georgia, Ben Brubaker (wife Jennifer) of Edwardsville, Ryan Jones (friend Amanda Register) of Salem, Denise Jones (friend Dennis Beasley) of Staunton, Jennifer (Jones) Liggett (husband Shane) of Edgewood, Joseph Jones (wife Candice) of Alma, Elly (Jones) Owens (husband Troy) of Kinmundy; great grandchildren, Hannah Lawson, Emma and Gracie Brubaker, Michael and Lindsay Peters, Wyatt, Emma, and Alyssa Jones, Jayda and Olivia Owens, and Jayden and Macee Grzegorek. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grace Conant; husband, Floyd Jones in September of 1993; brothers, Lyle and Dale Conant; sister, Donna Conant; and grandchild, Dusty Jones in 2005. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 27, 2013. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2013, Duane Ambrose officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Branch Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or Kinmundy Neighborhood Food Pantry and will be received at the funeral home.
