LOUISVILLE - Margaret "Addie" Grove, 94, of Louisville passed away at 1:10 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at her home in rural Louisville.

Margaret was born on August 8, 1926, in Clay County the daughter of the late Stephen Lionel, Sr., and Blanche (Hastings) Grove. Addie in her younger years was a schoolteacher in the old one room schoolhouse during the WWII era when there was a shortage of teachers, and also worked in Tolliver's General Store in Bible Grove for several years. She then went on to get her certificate in cosmetology and was a beautician for 50+ years having owned and operated the Snip'n Curl Beauty Shop in Ingraham. Addie like to sew/quilt and enjoyed reading a good book and loved to cook. She was never married or had kids but she had several nieces and nephews that were her kids that she loved to take care of, and when she wasn't busy with family she loved to travel and see different places. She was a member of the Clay City Methodist Church.

Addie is survived by her sister; Rita J. (Reggie) Birch, of Louisville, nieces and nephews; Kimberly (James) Finley, of Brentwood, Tennessee, David (Connie) Birch, of Louisville, Darren Birch, of Louisville, Stephen (Dawn) Birch, of Flora, and she is also survived by 5 great nieces, 3 great nephews, 3 great great nieces, 5 great great nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; John Ray Grove, Stephen Lionel Grove, Jr., and 1 sister-in-law; Phyllis Grove.

Graveside services honoring the life of Addie will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Shouse Chapel Cemetery, Bible Grove, with Gene Birch and Michael Elliott officiating, and burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the cemetery where friends may call from 10 to 11 AM. Memorials may be made to the Clay City Methodist Church or Clay County Hospice. McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
