Luther Dale "Dick" Fender, 82 of Louisville, passed away at 3:29 pm on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at his home in Louisville. Dick was born on September 16, 1936 in Clay County, the son of the late Sherman Frazier and Lela Fender. He married Nevada "Peggy" Johnson on July 10, 1954 in Salem and she survives. Mr. Fender worked as a pipefitter for several companies throughout Illinois and was a 53-year member of the Pipefitters Union Local #553 in East Alton, IL. Dick was also a 54-year Mason with the Flora Masonic Lodge #204. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. To many of his family and friends Dick was considered a bit of a jokester and would occasionally pull pranks. His family was his greatest treasure and enjoyed spending time with Isabella and Sydney and the rest of the great grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 64 years, Peggy, Dick is survived by a son; Luther Dale (Debbie) Fender Jr of Clay City, a daughter; Elizabeth Ann Albert of Xenia, two brothers; Richard Frazier of Nokomis and Terry Mitchell of Xenia, grandchildren, Joey (fiancé Mandy) Fender, Jessica (Chris) McKinney, Joshua (Amy) Albert, Bradley (fiancé Jessica) Albert, Molly Pyatt and Austen Wildbur, ten great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews and good friends. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Peggy Louise Fender and by three brothers, Eugene Frazier, John Mitchell and Junior Fender. Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Fender will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Pastor Ronnie Frazier will officiate. Interment will follow at the Old Union Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services on Thursday. Masonic Rites will be accorded at 11:30 am on Thursday.
