Lois Knierim

Lois Carol Knierim, age 72, of Effingham, IL, passed away at 7:15 pm Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. Lois was born January 28, 1941 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Wendell Harris and Helen Josephine (Devore) Keck. She was united in marriage with Lloyd Ed Knierim on March 17, 2005 in Effingham County, Illinois. Lois was employed by the USDA office in Louisville. She was a member of Ingraham Christian Church and attended the Cornerstone Christian Church in Effingham.. She is survived by her husband, Ed Knierim of Effingham; sons, Dr. Harry Carter and wife Kim of Fairfield, and Leonard Carter and wife Kim of Louisville; daughter, Rhonda Newby and fiancee Pete Hoke of Robinson; step-son, William Knierim and wife Connie of Terre Haute, IN, Herbert Knierim and wife Stephany of Monument, CO; step-daughter, Carrie Otto and husband Jonathan of Effingham, IL; brothers, Ronald Keck of Flora, and Dwayne Keck and wife Cindy of Huntingburg, Indiana; sisters, Sandy Dial and husband Gleason of Jerseyville, and Kathy Turner and husband Richard of Clay City; grandchildren, Daniel Newby, Audra Clodfelter and husband Noah, Katie Carter, Leah Carter, Marissa Carter, McKenna Carter; step-grandchildren, Tyler and Hunter Knierim, Sean Knierim and Lillith Einhorn. Preceding her in death were her parents, Wendell and Helen Keck. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2013. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 23, 2013, Kevin Colclasure and Ron Payne officiating. Interment will be at Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs, IL Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Christian Church and will be received that the funeral home.
