Lester Jenkins

Lester Howard Jenkins, age 96, of Iola, IL, passed away at 7:20 am, Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Helen's TLC Senior Care Home in Farina, IL. Lester was born July 16, 2012 in Farina, Illinois, the son of Bert L. and Pearl (Ricketts) Jenkins. He was united in marriage with Wilma Onstott on September 19, 1936 in Marshall, Illinois. He was self employed as a truck driver and was a member of the 1st Baptist church of Farina. He was an United State Veteran serving the Army during the World War II. Lester is survived by his wife, Wilma Jenkins of Farina; sister, Marjorie Blair of Louisville; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Pearl Jenkins; brothers, Leonard and Keith Jenkins; and sisters, Pauline Cornwell and Vera Onstott. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, June 4, 2012. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 4, 2012, Bro. Larry Cline and Rev. Mike Durre officiating. Interment will be at Iola Cemetery, Iola, IL Memorials may be made to the Central Illinois Honor Flight of Effingham.
