Leah Hart

Leah Geneva Wattles Hart, age 92, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 6:52 am, Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL. Leah was born January 27, 1920 in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard S. and Rena Jencie (Kenley) Devore. She was united in marriage with Charles "Jake" Wattles on October 1, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on April 26, 1978. She then was united in marriage in 1983 with Everett Hart at the Louisville Methodist Church and he also preceded her in death on July 20, 1990. Leah was employed as a shoe dresser at the shoe factories in Flora and Olney and was a faithful member of the Louisville Baptist Church. Leah is survived by son, Michael Wattles and wife Diane of Mahomet; daughters, Jane Lewis and husband Lindall of Effingham and Donna Stortzum and husband Delmar of Troy; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Rena Devore; brothers, Deon and Dean Devore and sister, Kathyrn Kidwell. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 10, 2012. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 10, 2012, Van McQueen officiating. Interment will be at Shouse Chapel Cemetery, Bible Grove, IL Memorials may be made to the Heritage Woods in Flora and will be recieved at the funeral home.
