Kathryn Marie Porter, age 90, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 2:25 pm, Friday, August 31, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL. Kathryn was born August 25, 1922 in Rinard, Illinois, the daughter of Opal and Mary Ester (Scott) Williams. She was united in marriage with Herschel Wayne Porter and to this union two sons and two daughters were born. Herschel preceded her in death on March 26, 2010. She was a faithful member of the Red Brush Christian Church and also a Gold Star Mother of the Sailor Springs American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending her time as a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She is survived by son, David Porter and wife Shirley of Louisville; daughters, Darlene Barnick and husband Ernest and Glenda Sharp and husband Leon both of Louisville; brothers, Bob and Gerald Williams; 10 grandchildren, Alan & Sharon Porter, Troy & Sherry Porter, Karen & Jim Douglas, April & Joe Parkhurst, Kelvin & Jessica Barnick, Christina & Chuck Smith, Teresa & Doug Warfel, Laverne & April Sharp, Wayne & Michelle Sharp and Tony & Jessica Sharp; 29 great grandchildren, Alex, Ashton, Ariel & Chloe; Ashley & Levi; Jordan & Taylor; Brittina, Patricia & Erin; Dusty, Katlynn, Esther & Hannah; Kelsey & Alex Lock and Cara Smith; Ashyton & Sydnie; Spencer, Will & Madeline; Dustin, Chris & Jason; Rebekah, Derek & Erikah; and 5 great great grandchildren, Bentley; Jerry Wayne; Payton & Presley: and Creed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Mary Ester Williams; husband, Herschel Porter; son, Delbert Porter in the Vietnam War; brother, Owen Williams; sister, Vera Moore and infant great grandson, Shay Alan Porter. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2012. And from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Red Brush Christian Church before the service. Funeral service will be at Red Brush Christian Church at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 7, 2012, Bro. Dusty Elmore officiating. Interment will be at Red Brush Cemetery, Louisville, IL Memorials may be made to the Red Brush Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home and the church.
