Judy West

Judy Adams West, 76 of Bible Grove, passed from this world at 2:20 am, Monday, October 23, 2023, at St. Anthony Hospital ICU, Effingham, surrounded by her family.

Born Judy Pauline Adams on August 14, 1947, to James Oliver "J.O.", and Rubye (Harris) Adams in Pulaski (Giles County), Tennessee. She grew up in Giles County, TN, Nashville, TN, and Henderson, KY, graduating from Henderson County High School in 1965. She married Daniel Kenneth "Dan" West on November 24, 1966, in Henderson. They shared 34 wedding anniversaries together until his death on February 11, 2001. To this union was born Bryan Kenneth, Adam Scott, and Heather Renee.

After high school, Judy graduated from Henderson Beauty College, graduating on June 1, 1966. After Dan attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington, they moved to Bible Grove in 1972 to operate the family farm, where Judy enjoyed cooking, painting, and raising her children. She was also involved in Girls Scouts, Cub Scouts, and 4-H when her children were young. Over the years Judy worked at a beauty salon in Versailles, KY, "Mr. Dean's Beauty Shop", "The Only Place" restaurant, both in Bible Grove. Later, she worked at J.C. Penny and Walmart Vision Center in Effingham. After Dan's death, Judy retired and devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Judy was also a member of the Bible Grove Christian Church, Bible Grove.

Those left to mourn her loss are her children Bryan (Leslee) West, and Adam (Gina) West, both of Bible Grove. Heather (Andrew) Maenche of McKinney, TX. Sister Patricia (Richard) Kieffer of Eagleville, TN, Brothers Gary (Janie) Adams of Christiana, TN and Keith Adams of Nashville, TN. Grandchildren Colborn (Ashleigh) West of Princeton, IN, Max West, Lauren West, and Blake Daniel West all of Bible Grove. Along with many nieces, nephews and extended family in Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, and Virginia.

Funeral services to celebrate Judy's life will held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 27, 2023, at the McGriff Funeral Home in Louisville with Mike Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at the Ingraham Cemetery, Ingraham, Illinois. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judy's memory to the Bible Grove Christian Church Building Fund.
