Joseph Falica Jr., 64, of Hord, passed away at 5:36 am on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on July 14, 1955 in Harvey, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Brown) Falica Sr. He married Karen Bruce and they celebrated 28 years of marriage until her passing on November 13, 2004. Mr. Falica was a police officer for several years and served as the chief of police for the town of Dixmoor. Joe was also a paramedic. He had a passion to serve and found his calling in the civil service sector. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed working on cars and could often be seen alongside his faithful German Shepherd, "Otto". Joe is survived by two sons; Kenneth Falica of Chicago and Michael Falica of Hord, a brother; David (Sylvia) Falica of Biloxi, Mississippi, two sisters; Patricia Sadowski of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Georgette (Russell) Hansen of Oak Forest and by several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Niki Falica.
