John Tobiason

John Thomas Tobiason, 53 of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away at 6:30 pm Friday December 24th, 2021 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, Missouri.

He was born on September 20th, 1968 in Creve Coeur, Missouri. John graduated from Teutopolis High School in Teutopolis, Illinois in 1988. He served in the United States Navy from 1991 - 1995. John graduated from New Mexico State University in 1999. He lived and worked in Blue Springs, MO for over 21 years.

John is survived by his brother George Tobiason and sister in law Susan Tobiason also of Blue Springs. He is also survived by his nephew Mike Tobiason of Atlanta, Georgia, his niece Kristin Tobiason (James Skinner, fiance) of Alexandria, Virginia and niece Michelle Tobiason of Blue Springs, MO.

John was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Lola Marie Tobiason, and his grandparents George and Lola Benwitz (Louisville, Illinois), and Tobias and Lillian Tobiason of Forest City, Iowa.  John is also survived by a girlfriend of 10 years Tonya Busby.

Funeral services honoring the life of John will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville with Carroll Ross officiating, and burial will follow at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home where friends may call from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Due to health concerns related to COVID-19, it is recommended that you please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
