John Wesley "Jack" Neal Jr., 69, of Louisville, passed away at 5:35 pm, Monday, May 7, 2007 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. He was born March 19, 1938 in Chicago, the son of John Wesley and Martha L. (Taylor) Neal Sr. He married Judith Kay Bailey June 21, 1957 and with this union three children were born. Jack was owner of J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville and Kinmundy. He was a member of Ingraham Christian Church, Louisville Rotary Club, past Clay County Coroner, volunteer fireman and member of North Clay Fire Protection District, past Director of Effingham Jaycees, past member of Flora Elks, member of Clay County Board for several years, past president and member of Louisville Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of Louisville Fall Festival for several years, past member Flora Oddfellows, sold insurance for Prudential achieving 1,000,000 in sales, also sold for Farmers Union and New York Life, EMT for ambulance service which he owned, member of the Illinois Funeral Director's Association, and past member of the Civil Defense. He graduated from North Clay High School in 1955, graduated from EIU and Worsham Mortuary College of Science. Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Martha Neal Sr.; grandparents, J. Elmer and Gertie Neal, and Melvin and Eula Taylor. He leaves to mourn his passing, wife, Judy Neal of Louisville; son, Mark A. Neal of Fort Walton, Florida; daughters, Julie Poe of Effingham and Susan Beppler and husband John of Louisville; sister, Carla McKay and husband Barry of Swartz Creek, Michigan; grandchildren, Blake Poe and wife Dana, Luke Poe, Amy, Dustin, Nicholas and KayLynn Beppler, Charla Neal, Chandra Biermann and husband John; great grandchildren, Logan Jack Beppler, Jack Wesley Poe, Aubrey Leigh Poe and Lexis Noelle Beppler; Nephews, Philip and Neal McKay; Niece, Lyndsey Short and husband Steven; and a loving circle of extended family and friends who all miss him dearly.
