John Grove

John Ray Grove, age 88, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 4:16 pm, Friday, September 27, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing and ReHab in Effingham, IL. John was born February 27, 1925 in Ingraham, Illinois, the son of Stephen L. and Blanche (Hastings) Grove. He was self employed as a farmer and was a member of Clay City Methodist Church and the Sailor Springs American Legion. He was an United State veteran serving in the Army during the World War II. John is survived by his brother, Stephen Grove Jr. of Effingham; and sisters, Adaline Grove and Rita Jean Birch and husband Reggie both of Louisville; niece, Kim Finley of Brentwood, TN; nephews, David Birch of Louisville, Darren Birch of Louisville, Steve Birch of Louisville; 9 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen L. and Blanche Grove Sr. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, September 30, 2013. Funeral service will be at J. W. Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 30, 2013, Mark Canada officiating. Interment will be at Shouse Chapel Cemetery, Bible Grove, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans and will be received at the funeral home.
