LOUISVILLE - John Neil Gould, 85, of Louisville passed away at 1:45 AM, Friday, June 4, 2021, at the Flora Rehab and Healthcare Center in Flora.
John was born on September 16, 1935, in Bible Grove, the son of the late Harmon Ezra and Mary Elsie (Lewis) Gould. John married Laura Beth Chandler on October 16, 1956, at the Beulah Methodist Church in rural Flora, and they shared 62 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on February 12, 2019. John had worked as an oil field pumper for over 50 years, and he loved the outdoors and was a lifelong farmer as well. John was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his children; Neil (Tracy) Gould, of Louisville, Gala (Tom) Hinkle, of St. Louis, Missouri, Linda (Lee) Ungrund, of Kansas City, Missouri, and formerly of Illiopolis, Illinois 6 grandchildren; Beth (Jeff) Haarmann, of Louisville, Lance (Rachel) Ungrund, of Martinsville, Indiana, Emily (Jason) Liggett, of Louisville, Curtis (Jill) Gould, of Louisville, Lynnette Ungrund, of Denver, Colorado, Logan Ungrund, of Bethalto, Illinois, 4 great grandchildren; Clayton Haarmann, Blair Liggett, Kenzie Ungrund, Faith Haarmann. He is also survived by a brother; Gerald (Orpha) Gould, of Louisville, and sister; Mary Kathyrn Seay, of San Diego, California, and a sister-in-law; Jeanne Gould, of Indiana.
Mr. Gould was also preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers; Lewis H. Gould, and Loren W. Gould.
Funeral services honoring the life of John will be held at 12 noon Monday, June 7, 2021 at the McGriff & Triplett Funeral Home in Louisville, with Gary Pearce officiating, then burial will follow at the Shouse Chapel Cemetery, Bible Grove. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 12 Noon.
