John Darrel Blair, age 91, of Louisville, IL, passed away at 2:02 am, Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Flora Gardens Nursing Home in Flora, IL. John was born Thursday, November 1, 1923 in Blair Township, Clay County, IL, the son of the late Elza Blair and the late Minnie (Hord) Blair. He married Martha Allen on June 11, 1949 in Marion County, IL. She survives in Louisville. He was self employed as a farmer as well as employed by AMF as a factory worker. He was a World War II veteran and was a past Superintendent of Sunday School at the Wabash Baptist Church. John is survived by wife Martha of Louisville; son and daughter-in-law, James and Patricia Woodward-Blair of Iuka, IL; grandson Tyler Blair of Mt. Vernon, IL; step-grandson Jonathan Woodward of Santa Monica, CA; sisters-in-law Betty Griffy of Flora, IL and Lora Blair of Columbia, IL; brother-in-law James Wiley Bryan of Texas; foster brother-in-law Ron (Sue) Tolliver of Flora, IL; very special friends Perry and Clara Wiley of Louisville, several nieces, nephews, good friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by parents, brothers Paul Blair and Allen Burdette Blair, and sister Bonnie Wiley. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL.
