James Wood

James "Jim" David Wood, age 72, of Anna, IL, passed away at 9:30 pm, Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Illinois Veterans Home at Anna in Anna, IL. Jim was born in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Paul L and Laura (Grove) Wood Sr. Jim was a self employed farmer and was a member of the Louisville United Methodist Church and the VFW. He was an United States Veteran serving in the Army. He is survived by his sisters, Mary Jane Fester of Godfrey, IL, Barbara Phelps of Carbondale, Joan Wooden of East Moline, IL, and Virginia Behrens of Newberg, OR. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Laura Wood; brothers, Paul L Wood Jr., and John Wood; sisters, Margaret A. Wood, and Elizabeth Fordyce. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville, IL. Graveside service and military rites will be at Shouse Chapel Cemetery at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 4, 2013. Howard Bell will be officiating. Interment will be at Shouse Chapel Cemetery, Bible Grove, IL Memorials may be made to the DAV - Chapter 80 and will be received at the funeral home and service.
