James Boyd

James Lewis Boyd, Sr., age 63, of Thompsonville, IL, passed away at 9:32 pm, Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, IL. James was born Thursday, July 6, 1950 in Salem, IL, the son of William Arthur "Art" and Marjorie "Marge" (Vanderwolk) Boyd. He was a retired employee of the Illinois Central/Canadian National Railroad as well as a member of the Kinmundy Masonic Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and golfing. James is survived by his mother, Marge Boyd of Marshall, IL; companion, Brenda Thomson of Kinmundy; sons, James (Rosie) Boyd Jr. of Litchfield, IL, Joe (Angela) Boyd of Colorado Springs, CO and Craig (Brandi) Boyd of Hillsboro, IL; daughters, Diana Rich of Herrin, IL, Lara McRoy of Thompsonville, IL and Linda Michelle Boyd of Thompsonville, IL; brother, William A. (Anna) Boyd, Jr. of Mattoon, IL; sister, Linda (John) James of Marshall, IL; mother of his three sons, Jean Young of Hillsboro, IL; mother of his three daughters, Pamela Boyd of Thompsonville, IL; 20 grand children and 1 great grand child. He was preceded in death by his father, William "Art" Boyd. Arrangments are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2014. Memorial service will be held at Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 25, 2014. Cremation rites will be accorded.
