Jacquie Slover, 90, of Flora and formerly of Louisville, passed away at 8:25 am on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Flora Gardens in Flora. Jacquie was born on July 4, 1929 in Clay County, the daughter of the late Walter and Janet (Kitley) Dillman. She married Earl Slover on September 25, 1948 in Salem and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2009. Mrs. Slover worked at The First National Bank of Flora for 35 years, retiring in 1992. She loved the color red which was evidently seen with her love of cardinal birds. She enjoyed watching sports, especially St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She truly enjoyed attending Flora Wolves and Wolfgals basketball games throughout the years. Jacquie (AKA: Queen of QVC) could often be heard talking to the sales representatives on QVC, as she was known to order occasionally. Jacquie was an active member of the First Christian Church of Flora and a proud supporter of the Clay County Cancer Support Group as well as the Clay County Cancer Crusaders. She was honored with Citizen of the Year in 2007. Jacquie loved her family, friends, and community. She will be missed by many. She is survived by a son; Doug (Debbie) Slover of Flora, two grandchildren, Erik Slover of Seattle, Washington and Kristan Slover of Clarksville, Tennessee, five step-grandchildren; Kyle (Michelle) Slover of Morrisville, North Carolina, Karla Ann Sargent of Mason, Ohio, Carla (Pat) Bender of Henderson, Kentucky, Jeremy Cook of Flora and Justin (Brittany) Cook of Flora, twelve great grandchildren, a sister; Mary (Ralph) Seiler of Effingham, a brother-in-law; Bob Eastin of Flora, and by several nieces, nephews and good friends. Besides her parents and husband, Jacquie was preceded in death by a sister; LeeAnn Eastin, a stepson; JW Slover, a stepdaughter-in-law Joy Slover and by a great granddaughter, Megan Slover. A celebration of life honoring the life of Jacquie will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Bobby McNeely will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until the time of services on Sunday. Social distancing measures are strongly encouraged for those attending services. Memorial contributions in Jacquie's memory are suggested to the Clay County Cancer Support Group or to the Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted through the funeral home.
