Jack Aaron Burke, age 91, of Chesterfield, Missouri, formerly of Louisville, IL, passed away at 12:05 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Surrey Place in Chesterfield, Missouri. Jack was born Saturday, September 3, 1921 in Louisville, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Burke and the late Issa "Tennessee" (Speaks) Burke. On November 3, 1940 in Wright City, Missouri, he married the late Mary "Geraldine" (Jones) Burke. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2010. He was self employed as the owner of a retail grocery store and was a lifelong attendee of the Louisville United Methodist Church. He also spent his time as a member of the Louisville Masonic Lodge and Louisville Rotary Club. Surviving are daughter, Carolyn "Jean" Hastings and husband Carl of Wildwood, MO; grandsons, Steve Hastings and wife Crystal of Wildwood and Brett Hastings and wife Kristin of Wildwood; and great grandchildren, Laura, Graham, Cole, Ty, Emma, Olivia and Alexa Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Jewell C. Burke and James D. Burke. Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL where the family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, July 11, 2013. Funeral service will be at J.W. Neal Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 12, 2013. Interment will be in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, IL.
