Jack Brinkley

Jack R. Brinkley, 74 of Kinmundy passed away at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Flora Health and Rehabilitation Centre in Flora. Jack was born on July 31, 1944 in Flora, IL the son of the late Grover and Nadine (Coclasure) Brinkley. He married Shirley Yingst on October 3, 1967 in Effingham and she survives. Mr. Brinkley worked for many years as a maintenance supervisor with the Illinois State Police Department until his retirement. He served in both the United States Army and the United States National Guard. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Kinmundy. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by five brothers, Gene Brinkley of Decatur, David Brinkley of Springfield, Billy Tolliver of Effingham, John Tolliver of Olney and Jimmy Tolliver of Effingham and by several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents Jack was preceded in death by his step-mother, Doris Brinkley, five brothers; Junior, Billy, Danny, Jerry and Ronnie Brinkley and by two sisters; Shirley Ostrander and Patty Holloway. Jack was also preceded in death by his Aunt and Uncle, Grace and Chris Brinkley, who raised Jack. In accordance with Mr. Brinkley's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services will be conducted. Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy is in charge of the care and arrangements.
