Iris Frunz

Iris Rae (Merritt) Frunz, 68, of Newton, passed away at 8:41 am on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. She was born on October 14, 1951 in Salem the daughter of the late Ira Garrett and Minnie (Mulvaney) Merritt Jr. Iris is survived by a brother; Robert Merritt of Fairfield, a sister; Judith (Leo) Thompson of Texas and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by a brother; Ira Garrett Merritt III. Private memorial services honoring the life of Ira will be conducted. Inurnment will be held at Elder Cemetery at a later date. Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of the care and arrangements.
