Henry Houtchins

Henry "Steve" Houtchins, age 70 of Odin, passed away at 8:54 am on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at his home in Odin. Steve was born Tuesday, December 17, 1946 in Champaign, IL, the son of the late Cash Houtchins and the late Naomi (Stasei) Gilbert. He was united in marriage to Judy Perry on March 12, 2003 at the Kinmundy Pentacostal Church. He was employed by J.M. Jones in Champaign as a janitor and served in the United States Army in Germany. Steve loved to watch sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats on TV and also loved to read. Steve is survived by wife Judy Houtchins of Odin; brothers, David Houtchins of Kentucky, Mike (Janet) Houtchins of Indianapolis, IN, Clifford (Sheila) Houtchins, Danville, IL; sisters, Roseland (Buck) Brewer of Washington, KY, Brenda Houtchins, Hazel Houtchins, and Susie Houtchins all of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jason Houtchins, and step-mother Mary Bell. Arrangments are entrusted to Neal Funeral Home of Kinmundy, were the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 20, 2017. A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Grandview Memorial Gardens located at 4112 W Bloomington Rd in Champaign, IL. Interment will follow.
