Harvey Simpson

Harvey Walton Simpson, age 55, of Centralia, IL, formerly of Minonk, IL, passed away at 3:45pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at his home in Centralia, IL. He was born Saturday, March 22, 1958 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Roscoe Simpson and Evelyn (Kimber) Simpson. On March 3, 2013 in Pontiac, IL, he married Debbie McMillian. He was employed by Ruff Grain as a semi truck driver and was also retired from the United States Air Force. He served the United States for many years as a SSGT in the Air Force and spent five years in active duty through Operation Desert Shield/Storm. His achievements include: Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with one device, AF Training Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, AF Longevity Service AWard with two devices, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, AF Outstanding Unit Award with six devices, Navy Meritorious Unit Citation, and AF Good Conduct Medal with three devices. He is survived by his wife Debbie Simpson of Centralia, IL; mother, Evelyn Simpson of Kinumndy, IL; sons, Justin (Michelle) Simpson of Arizona, Eric (Becky) McMillian of Minonk, IL and Ricky (Christina) Bobinski of Pontiac, IL; daughter, Michelle Bobinski of Centralia, IL; sister, Linda (Ed) Cusac of Kinmundy, IL, Barbara McCollam of Murfeesboro, TN;grand children, Jaeden, Brianna, and Hannah Simpson of Arizona, Alex and Evelyn McMillian of Minonk, IL, Michael, Justin and Emma Bobinski of Pontiac, IL, and Hailey Baker of Centralia, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Simpson, daughter, Evelyn Simpson, sister, Roberta Jones and grandchild, Tyler Baker. Arrangments are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, IL. A first visitation will be held at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, 775 North Chestnut St., Minonk, IL 61760 on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A second visitiation will be held at Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, IL on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home located at 115 North Jefferson Street ~ PO Box 25 Kinmundy, Illinois 62854. Interment will be in Phillips Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL. Scott Air Force honors will be accorded. Memorials donations may be made to the donor's choice and will be received at the funeral home.
