Georgia Neal-Wofford

Georgia M. Neal Wofford, age 84, residing at the Villas of Holly Brook in Effingham, formerly of Peoria and Louisville, passed away at 3:20 pm, Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Georgia was born February 09, 1931 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of Clifford and Ruth (Hastings) Arnold. She married Frank Neal on October 06, 1951 in Mexico, MO and he preceded her in death on Feburay 1, 1981. She later married Lyle Wofford on July 9, 1982 in Ottawa, IL who preceded her in death on January 7, 2010. Georgia was a passionate, energetic and dedicated Mother, Christian, neighbor, and citizen. She was an active member of her community throughout her life, from helping revive the Fort Madison Iowa Rodeo to organizing the Fall Festival Queen Pageant in Louisville, IL she pulled the people together like no one else. Professionally, she started her career as an accountant, became an estate planner, insurance and securities broker for Prudential. She was most proud of her work and leadership in the Peoria Chapter of the Illinois and Business Professional Women's Association. Georgia is survived by her five daughters, Patti Rose of Marina Del Rey, CA, Vicki (Alan) Griffy of Louisville, Cheri (Tim) Woodsmall of Mt. Carmel, Sue (Monty) Stortzum of Dieterich, Pam (Marty) Garrett of Louisville; 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, and her best furry friend Georgie Boy. She is preceded in death by her parents, by her husbands Frank and Lyle, and sisters Rose Curry and Millie White. We will honor this amazing woman at J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL with a visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 22, 2015. A Celebration of Life service will follow immediately at 1:00 pm. There will be no graveside service. Due to the joy Georgia's animals brought to her life, the family would like to extend her enthusiam by requesting memorial donations may be made to Fur A Good Paws and will be received at the funeral home.
