Gary Kemmerer

Gary Wayne Kemmerer, 74, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 8:40 p.m. at the Flora Gardens Care Center, Flora, Illinois.

Gary was born on May 29, 1948, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Roland Ross and Sue (Barnes) Kemmerer. He married Evelyn Gaut, on February 4, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan. He was a union electrician and worked for the IBEW for many years before retiring. Gary was a musician and started playing when he was 13 years old in Michigan. He also was a member of the Musician’s union. Gary attended St. Paul’s Church in Bible Grove, Illinois.

Gary is survived by his wife Evelyn of Louisville, and two sons, Ryan Wayne Kemmerer, Louisville, and Gordon Glenn (Jamie) Kemmerer of Xenia, four grandchildren, Joshua (Dakota)Kemmerer of Iuka, Kirstie (Matt) Miller of South Carolina, Glenn Kemmerer of Xenia, Tyler Kemmerer of Xenia, three great grandchildren, Jax Kemmerer, Liam Miller, and Levi Miller, 1 brother, Ron (Bridgett) Kemmerer of Florida.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

Memorial services honoring the life of Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Flora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice and will be accepted through the funeral home. McGriff Funeral home in Louisville is assisting the family with arrangements.
