Garrett Merritt

Garrett Merritt III, age 58 of Fairfield, passed away at 10:28 am, Friday, September 2, 2016 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Garrett was born in Olney, IL on August 21, 1958 to the late Ira G. Merritt, Jr. and Louise (Mulvaney) Merritt. He was employed in fiber optics in Texas. He is survived by his mother Louise of Fairfield; son, Zachary Merritt of Edmonton, Alberta; brother, Robert O. Merritt of Fairfield; sisters, Iris Frunz of Newton, Judy (Leo) Thompson of Weatherford, Texas, Donna (Billy) Clark of Alabama. He is preceded in death by his father. Arrangements will be handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, September 12, 2016. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded and interment will be held at a later date at Elder Cemetery in rural Kinmundy. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses and will be received at the funeral home.
