Evelyn Simpson

Evelyn Roberta Simpson, age 92, of Kinmundy, IL, passed away at 7:30 am, October 29, 2014, at her home in Kinmundy, IL. Evelyn was born July 16, 1922 in Streator, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Grace (Blain) Kimber. She was united in marriage with Roscoe E. Simpson on October 4, 1942 in La Salle County, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2000. She was a faithful member of Episcopal Church of Salem. Evelyn is survived by daughters, Linda L. Simpson (Edward) Cusac of Kinmundy, Barbara J. Simpson McCollam of Murfreesboro, TN; sons-in-law, Carl P. Jones of Kinmundy; daughter-in-law, Debbie Simpson of Central City, Illinois; brother-in-law, Ira (Mary) Simpson of Decatur, Illinois; sister, Grace Ann Shotwell of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Shirley Kimber of Streator, Mary Fowler of Bloomington, IL, and Emma (Vernon) Duncan of Illinois; grandchildren, Shane McCollam, Magen (Dedrick) Gaines, Glenn (Julie) Cusac of AK, Edward (Tracy) Cusac of FL, Liona (Lonnie) Tipsword, Kinmundy, Christopher (Rebecca) Jones of Kinmundy, Clayton (Kristen) Jones of CO, Justin Simpson (companion Krystal Dimmick) of AZ, Michelle Bobinski of Central City, IL, Eric (Becky) McMillen of Minonk, IL, and Rick (Christina) Bobinski of AZ; 37 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Grace Kimber, husband, Roscoe Simpson; son, Harvey Walton Simpson; daughter, Roberta Jean Jones; brothers, Wesley (Juanita) Kimber, Russell (Nellie) Kimber, Robert (Joyce) Kimber and Edward Kimber; sisters, Mary (Bob) Hinshaw, Helen (Webb) Dimming, and Ruth Kinkade (Jim) Hegland; in-laws, Norma (Hugh) Cisne, Olaf (Mildred) Simpson, Jim (Frances) Simpson, John Simpson, Lewis Fowler, and Grady Shotwell; granddaughter, Evelyn D. Simpson; step-granddaughter, Judith Ann Marshall; great grandson, Joshua Tipsword; and step-great grandson, Tyler Aiden Baker. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home in Kinmundy, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, November 1, 2014. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2014 with Father David Baumann officiating. Interment will be at Phillips Cemetery, Kinmundy, IL.
