Ervin Schneider

Ervin Henry Schneider, age 93, of Iuka, IL, passed away at 4:30am, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, IL. Ervin was born April 02, 1921 in Marion County, IL, the son of Herman and Lillie Mae (Barbee) Schneider. He married Anna M. Schneider, currently of Kinmundy, IL and to this union four boys and two girls were born. Later, he married Doris A. Schneider, currently of Salem, IL and to this union one daughter was born. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and a member of the United Church of Christ of Farina. He was also a member of Marion Masonic Lodge #130 and a 32nd degree of the Masons of which he was very proud. He spent his time as a track foreman and was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad. Ervin is survived by sons, Ervin Leroy (Barbara L.) Schneider of Mason, IL, Paul Schneider and Densel W. Schneider of Kinmundy; daughters, Judy Diss of Kinmundy, Darla Mini of Naples, FL, Carla S. Lyons (special friend Michael Peddycoart) of Iuka, IL; sister, Dorothy Thomas of Centralia, IL; step-children, Vicki (Bob) Leonard of Salem, Richard Brown (significant other Angie Beard) of Salem; thirteen grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his trust companion "Sassy". He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lille Mae; son, Larry Schneider; brothers, Clarence and Merle Schneider; four brother-in-laws; sisters, Naomi Crain, Hilda Crain, Edna Mae Schneider, Arleen Williamson and Betty Smith. Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, Kinmundy, IL where the family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Masonic rites will be held at 1:45pm. Funeral service will be held at Neal Funeral Home also, at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Interment will be at Farina Cemetery, rural Farina, IL. Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion at the cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the United Church of Christ of Farina and will be received at the funeral home.
